Book Review

Wow… That’s all I can say! I don’t even like Greek Mythology all that much (sorry, not sorry), but I absolutely loved Circe. You do not have to have a background or knowledge of mythology to like this book–I practically know next to nothing and still enjoyed it a ton! I think if I did have the background, it would have been five star material to me!

Circe is written beautifully; I experienced it through Audible. It was a fantastic listen! The narrator had the perfect tone for the voice, and it really helped me envision Circe’s character that much more.

My heart ached for Circe. She is a powerful being, an independent woman, but she goes through so much to get there, and learns so much along the way. I found myself learning with her, enjoying her triumphs and how she visibly grew as a person throughout the book. Her character was so beautifully written, so beautifully flawed, and such a fiercely loving character. This wasn’t a thriller, or any type of my “normal” read, yet I found it a page turner. When I say page turner, I mean I listened to it at every possible moment.

I suggest this book to anyone, mythology fan or not!

Side note, I have a love/hate relationship with Audible, because I love it, but I also really just want to see words on the page, and I want to take pictures of the books!! It’s driving me crazy to go back to using the book cover as my image for the post.
