Book Review

Wow! I was addicted to The Things We Wish Were True. I got it on Kindle Unlimited forever ago, but then I realized it was a free audible too, sooo I dove right in. Another one I listened to over reading.

At first, I was really concerned. There are a lot of characters, and a lot to keep straight. I didn’t think I would ever learn their names or stories, but after a while, I learned all of their stories and was invested in each one. I had the characters I loved, I had the characters that were just “okay”, but then it seemed I fell in love with all of them by the end.

Each character was deliciously flawed, and so realistic. They were all dealing with their own problems in the own ways. Welcome to suburbia, and the secret lives behind each perfectly groomed front door. This was a great book, although it isn’t my typical fast-paced thriller.

There’s nothing I didn’t like about this book. It was a fun, quick read that kept me entertained throughout. I guess the only thing I rated it down for was the memorability. It seemed to me like this was a fun, quick, summer read. The characters were flawed, yet some of the story was predictable. It’s definitely worth the read if you are looking for something that has secrets, but isn’t quite a thriller.

  1. I do this all the time, get books I know I want to read in Kindle Unlimited and later or a year later finally get to read it and enjoyed it so much that I wish I read it sooner. Jackie
