Before the Fall by Noah Hawley

It has been quite a while since I have posted! I’ve been so busy I haven’t had as much time as I would like to read and post. But I’m back at it now.

Before The Fall captured me from the very beginning. It intricately weaves through characters’ lives, building a web of understanding for the reader. It won’t spoil anything if I tell you because it happens in the first chapter. But it’s about a plane crash, a private jet, with very important people on board. Only two survived: a recovering alcoholic painter and a young boy.

The book explains the lives and backgrounds of the people on the plane. It provides what was happening before the plane, why they were on the plane. The stories are written so well that I was captivated in each person’s life. I almost felt like I was watching the characters unfold. I checked through the plane, visualizing my now well-known character and how they might have been connected to the crash.

In the ending, I was a little disappointed in the reason of the crash, but it still was a good book. I do recommend it!
