I finished this one pretty quickly. It’s shorter, at just over 200 pages and honestly it’s a wonderful book that keeps you very invested and involved.
Alice has had a life that not many can imagine. She is committed to a mental institution after her boyfriend dies in a fire that her twin sister sets. Her sister is dangerous and loves Alice in the way she knows how to love her-but sometimes it can be terrifying.
The book is divided into two different ways of narration: present day and the past, the past that Alice is journaling about per her doctors suggestion. The sections are well intertwined with the reader learning just enough as you continue.
There is a twist at the end. To be honest I saw it coming from the very beginning. I’m not sure how I did; it wasn’t obvious at all. I still loved the book and highly suggest it. It goes through the life of people who have been through more than I can imagine, and then goes through each of their coping mechanisms. I give this book a 5/5!
